‘Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.’ H.L. Mencken

Henry Louis Mencken an American journalist that died in 1956 wrote the quote above.

There’s a desperate truth in this quote. A sense of powerless and inability to decipher through the noise so the only thing left to do, is to slit everyone’s throat. I don’t think H.L. was really suggesting we actually unsheathed our sword and get busy. I think he’s illustrating the frustration that “normal” people can feel.

We are currently living in a political climate were the political discourse has reached a Hatfield v. McCoy, Biggie v. Tupoc level. A normal person could feel the need to grab that sword after listening to weeks of Anderson Cooper (CNN), Sean Hannerty (FOX), Laura Ingram (FOX), Don Lemon (CNN) and Tucker Carlson (FOX) – they’re all cable news talking heads.

There’s a line of demarcation for the D’s (democrats) and the R’s (republicans).  If you are a Dem then the Fox news crew are the Sharks and if Republican the CNN group are the Jets. Tucker Carson has pimped on CNN and Fox. If you have never seen the Jon Stewart’s ambush of Tucker when he was on CNN, here it is.
